Hi all I will get right into the issue

when I boot up with my dvi cable the bios shows but once I assume it shows the log in Windows part it says can't display video.

It has been like that for a while I just unplugged and replugged and it worked I switched to vga since I have a old 4:3 display no hdmi using the same gpu port with a adapter and it works the only reason I want to use a dvi cable is because the vga cable I use cannot be screwed into my monitor and any movement unplugs it

sounds like GPU drivers arent installed, you sometimes don't get digital video from old cards until you get the driver, or are you using onboard video ?

Happened to me yesterday. Think I fixed it today. Had to reinstall drivers twice before it displayed correctly.

yeah a card that old will definitely want drivers before it gives you any digital video. i sold a quadro 4000 once, and the guy called me up accusing me of being a scumbag because the DP ports didnt work, only the DVI worked, but he hadnt installed the drivers, and went rather sheepish when i pointed out his stupidity.

If a DVI cable does not work, it won't work no matter what is it showing. Digital conections are not kind with failures. It works, or does not work at all. The problem could be software related. Try a driver rollback.
