Computer degrading in performance?

Only doing large-scale deletes like resetting windows and stuff would help.

Issue: Last week, my computer was doing fine, running as it should, and at a constant rate. I'm not entirely sure what happened in these past few days, however. I have noticed that, over the past 2 days, my computer has been taking longer and longer to process simple things, like video games. The games I have tested are CS:GO, H1Z1, and TF2. I have noticed that all of them take anywhere from double to triple the length of time to load into the main menu, as well as when joining games and loading up maps. I have tried restarting both my computer and router several times, but to no avail. I just can't seem to figure out what has gone wrong, but I do have a suspicion that it has something to do with a NVIDIA driver update or a Microsoft Windows update, as those are the only things I have downloaded in the past week and a half. If anyone is having these same issues as me on the same OS or NVIDIA driver version, or has a solution, please let me know! Any help is greatly appreciated!

Computer Specs
GPU: NVIDIA EVGA 1080 FTW DT w/ 8 GB DDR5 on NVIDIA Driver version 382.05 (latest version)
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790 @ 3.6GHz
8 GB DDR3 RAM

500 W Power supply
Windows 8.1 64bit

Can i get some info about your storage solution? You say the issue is loading time so i think it's something with your storage.

Please mention or quote me if you want a response. :)

what are your storage specs

I don't remember the exact specs, but the HDD is very slow, as well as capable of 2 TB.

probably your drive failing you can run some storage benchmarks on it to check

I know, what I'm saying is the computer performance is degrading and both the hardware and software could have something to do with it.

Although very, very rare, it can still happen, no doubt.

Try searching 'Defragment and optimize disks' in windows search bar and run the program.

the gpu and cpu can become unstable and will need downclock or more voltage to work but it wont lose performance

his hard drive is probably literally dying so defragging it may just make it die faster

Whoops forgot that... Although still might be a good idea just to be sure.

Yep, it runs automatically weekly. 0% is fragmented. Would deleting things from storage help at all?

Well, that is a possibility. I do have lots of shit on here I don't like, and my games are on steam. Not doing it right now, but its a possibility.

Wait, I would need the sticker code for windows if I were to do that though, correct?

No. If you do it the correct way you don't need a code.
