TigerDirect Rebate Question

technation

Tigerdirect has been offering some amazing deals this week but they're all based on getting a rebate from Total Defense Security Antivirus. In order to get the rebate you have to actually activate the software on your computer and also put in a credit card. I've looked online and heard some horrible stories about the software corrupting windows, the company rejecting rebates and renewing licences automatically via your credit card. Has anyone ever tried this and have any personal experience with this?

If it has the total defence thing, you have to activate the program (total defence) to get the rebate, I have done it and it took me like 24 hours. Don't. Even. TRY

That sounds super lame, everytime i purchase something from tigerdirect, i always

get the mail in rebates directly from the manufacturer not tigerdirect

Personally I wouldn't get it because the antivirus isn't really popular and it fails AV-Comparatives standard which is sort of bad:http://www.comparedandreviewed.com/anti-virus-software/total-defense-anti-virus/review

I would rather just wait for a good deal in buying stuff instead of relying on this antivirus to get a discount on your product.
