GPU-Z showing higher frequency?

Hey so I tried my hand at overclocking my 1080 Strix and in GPU Tweak II, I was able to get GPU Boost Clock (MHz) to 2040 (which some people have said is good, and some say is very bad so idk). I am confused though because when I run Unigine Heaven, GPU-Z says my GPU Core Clock is 2202 MHz. Why is there such a large discrepancy?

Thermal throttling maybe?

I have this issue too with mine being at 2202 as well but i only see my card hit 2088. (GTX 1060)

Also i have a single fan GPU.

Throttling would be the other way around though right (GPU-Z showing lower speed than what I set)? GPU-Z is saying my card is running way faster than what I set is GPU Tweak II

No offense to you, but you have no experience with unigine benchmarks.

 

Unigine benchmarks reports false clock speeds, so the overclocking program is right

What about GPU-Z though? That's what I was going off of.

I certainly don't, since i use Unigine only for stability testing and i find that testing stability on Unigine is kinda inaccurate at times.

Its inaccurate too. It shows my boost clock is 1400 MHz while it is 1500 MHz

What's a reliable program I can use to see what my clock speed is on my GPU then? (GPU Tweak II monitoring was apparently broken by the newest nvidia driver)

MSI afterburner can do it most accurately

Okay. So I have read that running afterburner and gpu tweak isn't a good idea so can I run only the monitoring through afterburner while using my of profile for gpu tweak? Or can it not be split like that and I'll need to completely redial the gpu in afterburner?

So overclock your card to same clocks and settings that you have in gpu tweak and apply them to afterburner and then turn off gpu tweak
