Cable Mod Led Strip Controller Not Working?

I recently bought, and had my friend install LED Strips from cable mod, but the LED strip isn't receiving the signal from the remote. The remote works, the light on the top of it turns on, but the colors wont change, and i cant turn it on or off, the lights are permanently light blue. Please help, i'm horrible with computers!
