Well, yes, I suppose using a flash drive or HDD would cause it to wear out faster than not using it, but what are you gonna do? xD

Maybe you can look into your router settings to set the drive to spin down when idle, although most routers already do this automatically.

I will probably use a flash drive then, thanks.
