Switching motherboards

I am upgrading from AMD to Intel for motherboards

I heard that "If you uninstall AMD's drivers you can switch boards,  boot up, and install intel's drivers np. It won't be optimized but it will fully function."

Is that true? I upgraded to windows 10 during its 'free trial' stage and don't want to pay for it again.
