I just installed my new Asus 1070 Strix. I have installed all the drivers and uninstalled the drivers from my old gpu.

however, I booted up overwatch to play with some friends and about 10 minutes in, the fans speed turned to 100% and the monitors blackscreened.

I could still hear my friends talking and they could still hear me. but every time I clicked or pressed a button, windows would make that ringing sound it plays when there is an error.

The only way I could get the monitors to turn back on is to reboot my system.

the temperature is normal so there is no reason for it shut off due to overheating.

I have no clue what could be going on so anything helps.

thanks!

i have seen this error numerous times in the forum , This maybe from a crashing driver ( Remove ur current driver from its roots , and install another stable version , doesnt have to be the latest )

also this problem happens due to a bios issue or a defective gpu

if ur current display was working with a different card , this means its out of question and nothing wrong with it

Try updating ur bios , there has been problems with the micron vram

take a look at ur vrams

What Psu are u using ? , how old is it

Try underclocking core clock and memory and vrams

if nothing fixes it , this may be a defective gpu , u shouldnt give up that easy tho,  but u have to consider a RMA if all trials fail .

Best of luck , keep us updated

thanks for the help, I tried to download the new bios update and it said that it was already up to date.

an interesting thing though, I thought to take a screenshot while the computer black screened, and it said that it was a monitor error (which im sure its not because it was fine with my old gpu, but I was wondering if that meant anything.) I am still within the time that I have to return the GPU to amazon, so if I don't find a solution, I think that I will just send it back.
