Need help with identifying a card

Hey everyone!

Pardon if you find this thread a bit messy. I'm not too experienced when it comes to posting and such, but ill try to make it good!

 

The title describes my issue; There's this suspicous card im trying to figure about, but I just cant find it anywhere and these "promised words & details" about it just makes it worse.

 

So it all started when I decided that upgrading my toaster (PC). As a nervous fella I decided to use a popular site for purchases of computers/ parts in my country to search & just play around on setups. It was at this very moment i discovered this card..

Now, Ive heard of the Dual OC, but never of a black edition. So I went on searching for info about this card.... and I searched... and I searched for some more... Nothing. I could simply not find this "black edition".

 

You could say, it's simply just the Dual OC.. but a black edition! Fancy right? Well yeah I guess it could fit well along the other parts, BUT the details are waaaaay different. 

On the first picture you can see what they promised me to believe was a Dual OC black with following details: 

 

Core clock : 1657 MHz

boost clock: 1860 MHz

 

Width:    4 Cm

Depth:    29.8 Cm

height:    13.4 Cm

I compared these details with the Dual OC and they don't even look any the same, not even the slightest! The size and stats are also different which makes me very suspicous and confused. This site is quite popular in my country and its supposed to be very trustworthy. 

 

So I thought it would be ideal to call the company and ask about this card, but the response didn't help at all. First of all, this card cannot be bought singlehanded because it's a part of a "set" which ment they didnt even have it in storage. It had to be orderer from China! however, they said the details were given from ASUS themself which should be good enough. As stubborn as I am, I told them I  wasnt happy at all and wanted more info so I was promised a Email. This took quite a while... AND NOW they admit only that the cards details aren't precise. Well yay me, now its obvious they're seraching for water in a desert. 

 

This is where I need help from you, the awesome person around the world!

1. Is it even a card thats named ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 DUAL OC BLACK? If not, what card have they decided to use on the picture?!

2. What's the true stats of this card? their site says one thing, then i get a mail saying something else and now I dont know what or who.  

 

Any response is much appreciated!! Please, if you have the slightest idea or if you think you know anything about this then please help me out by sharing it in a comment

Why do you need the asus one? There are plenty of black gtx 1070s out there.

Seems like an issue with the marketing at that website.

 

The core count is correct, however the boost clock is the same as the strix:

I haven't decided yet. I was thinking of buying the Strix, but this card is currently a part of the sale  

And yeah theres sure many types out there, but I wanted to find this specific  "OC BLACK" Which happend to look like this & had these stats.. if there are

Exactly! And if it's actually a error, then Im not even sure if this is a Dual OC card cause theres barely anything connecting them! It's like they just typed 1070 (something) and sends me a complete random 1070 card LOL.

I would order that card and see what arrives, especially if it's cheaper than the strix. Take a screen shot of the specs when you order. What specs did they email you ?

I haven't decided to buy or not yet cause of this.. ghost card? I'll need some more time!

On the mail they sent, they just told me the stats "might" wasn't accurate, but it should be very close... It's all a big scam in my eyes.. I'm so curious what that card on picture actually are!

I would order, use paypal/credit card so you are covered if the company try to sly, however, komplett are a big company and I would expect them to honour a purchase
