Hello I have a question about compatibility. I bought 16 gigs of this ram https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006YG9EEW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 about a year ago for my amd motherboard. I want to upgrade from my fx 6300 to a i5 6600k or possibily an i7. What motherboard do you suggest I buy and will it work with the ram I purchased before? I'd hate to buy more, kind of on a budget. Thanks so much ;)

As far as I know the new Skylake boards like the z170 take ddr4, not ddr3.

Welcome to Maryland.

We have crabs.

You're limited on choices but there's a few,

Just make sure it supports actual DDR3 and not just DDR3L.

I'm looking for a bit cheaper about the 90 to 100 range? Or would it be worth just buying DDR4?

You're going to want a Z170 board to go with your unlocked 6600k and there's only a couple that support DDR3,

Personally I would either save up a bit or sell your old hardware and go with DDR4.
