Weak wifi, how fix?

Hello all,

 

My problem is that upstairs where I spend most of my time I get a very weak WiFi signal on all devices. My hub is downstairs and can't be moved and I know there is a range of wireless access points out there but I don't know what would be suitable for my situation. It would also be preferred if I didn't have to run long cables from my router upstairs. I have a basic understanding of things in this area but am not sure what would be the best way for me to go about resolving it. So my question to you people is: what is an affordable lets say WAP that will work well in the home environment where it doesn't need to be capable of long range (maybe 12ft radius most)?

Powerline is a substitute to running cables, as for access points, try the AC lite or the AC LR from ubiquiti

Eero? It's expensive, but you can have even coverage across your whole house.

I've the Ubiquity ones and these are great.  2 ap's cover the whole house.
