Did I install my RAM correctly?

Hi,

 

I have an ASUS M5A97 R2.0 evo motherboard. Some days ago, I upgraded my RAM by 4 GB. I had 2x4GB G.SKILL RipJaws (red) CL8 1600MHz in it, and I put in another 2x2GB G.SKILL RipJaws (red) CL8 1600MHz (same RAM, different size).

 

Now, as far as I know, each channel should have 6GB, so they have the same size. In the manual, there is this drawing:

In A1 and B1 I have the 2GB sticks, therefore A2 and B2 contain the 4GB sticks. That's correct, isn't it?

 

3dmark and CPU-Z show me this:

Modul 1: 2.048 MB G.Skill DDR3 @ 1.604 MHz

Modul 2: 2.048 MB G.Skill DDR3 @ 1.604 MHz

Modul 3: 4.096 MB G.Skill DDR3 @ 1.604 MHz

Modul 4: 4.096 MB G.Skill DDR3 @ 1.604 MHz

 

Should it not be in this order? 2G - 4G - 2G - 4G? Or is this just the order to count the slots (A1 - B1 - A2 - B2)? Or am I totally wrong and the numbers are defining the channel, not the letter?

It's fine. That is how I would have done it. It is because A2 and B2 are channeled. I don't know all the details, but that is correct.
