I have been dealing with this issue for a long time, well more specifically 3 weeks, and for the last couple of days I have spent my time reading forums and exploring options to fix this, The problem is anytime I run a 3d application my driver crashes for my RX 480, i have updated all my drivers, Bios, everything, i have DDu'd reinstalled and installed drivers over and over again, I have not seen artifacting my Card is not the issue here. I have even set it to compatibility mode hoping things would help, but i still get the same issue even when I reduce the power limit and undervolted  the card.

My current setup is
i3-6100
rx 480 nitro + 8 gig
16 gigs of ram
Gigabyte z170-HD3P MOBO
EVGA 750+ bronze nex power supply
http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/2185040 )

all my parts are new, so there shouldn't be any other issue going on

I also do not have Raptr nor do I use any other Anti-Virus software but Microsofts Windows Defender

If anyone has any idea's on how to fix this please help because I have done everything at this point besides get an RMA on my graphics card even though I know its not the card based on the issues I am having.

Power supply might be your issue. That's not a good power supply.
