hi i was wondering how many times to execute trim on my SSD

because after 7 days of not doing it i got some ''retired blocks'' according to the S.M.A.R.T data. Trimming the SSD makes this value dissappear. So i guess that has been fixed?

So how often to execute trim?

What is your OS and model of SSD? there are firmware issues to be considered. i guess it could also count on usage.

I'm going to refer you to arch wiki here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Solid_State_Drives#TRIM that has a table for each filesystem.

I use my operating system's built in SSD recommendation because I did my research and there are no firmware issues with my SSDs.

I followed the arch wiki guide for SSD when I got my first one about five years ago; my old Intel 520 SSD ran for this time without slowdown or errors.

I think the recommendation is at least once per week but I do not have a reference for this.
