How to check if a GPU is working without a computer?

Hey all,

 

Recently had this really nice person ship me his old GTX 580 from America to the UK to use in my new build. However, I have no clue if it works or not. I was planning to use it on my new build however I currently have a laptop and no one in my house has a computer. I don't wanna spend money buying all the parts and the GPU doesn't work (since I'll need to buy all parts on 1 day due to reasons)

 

Is there anyway to check if it works?

Maybe a friend of yours can test it for you, or even a local computerstore? :)
