trouble with skyrim se

Every time I try to play skyrim se it will bring me to the launcher and when I click my it will say running but won't actually launch. Please I need help on fixing this. Can someone walk me through the steps please (on steam)

First thing I would try is to go into the game properties, click on local files, and verify integrity of game cache. This will check for any missing/corrupt files and if it finds any it will re download them.

Last time I had a problem like that I first uninstalled the game through steam, then I navigated to the game directory in programfiles/steam/steamapps/common/skyrim and deleted the entire skyrim folder. When you uninstall through steam this folder does not get deleted. If you are willing to/have fast internet go ahead and try this.
