I'm doing a build for a friend, and I want to know if there's anything you would improve on.  He probably won't be doing anything crazy on it, and the goal is not to max out the budget.

I would suggest a penituim g3528. Get a good cooler, overclock the hell out of it, and it will beat a 6100.

Ok, if you of the user aren't comfortable with overclocking, then the i3 6100 will work fine. The pentium is significantly cheaper, with cheaper boards and cheaper ram that performs on par with the 6100 when overclocked.
