no, VRAM is ram used for the graphics. it's a different kind of RAM and does not take from your system RAM

Probably not. It would state that it's shared VRAM if it dipped into the RAM. So if it specifically says you have separate RAM and VRAM and there's no mention of RAM being shared, they should be separate. Albeit, these are technical terms that the marketing people often omit. No-one would blame you if you asked the seller.
