What's worth more

Go to solution Solved by Rohime,

The 2 x 1080's will benchmark better - but SLI is not usable (well) in all games.

The 1 x Titan XP will be usable in ALL games.

So... if you ONLY play games that SLI well, then the 2x1080 is good choice.

For all other usage, 1 x TitanXP is better bet.

Ok so on PC Part picker i have learned that 2 8gb cards in sli do not give me a total of 16gb vram, but rather i get 8gb still, which made me ask, what should i do, whyen the time comes, should i waste the better part of $2400 AUD on two GTX 1080's or go for one $1600 titan X(Pascal), in my opinion the better option is get one titan x(Pascal), but i would like a few other opinions, as a completely uneducated individual when it comes to pc parts, other peoples opinions and experiences will be very valuable to me.

If i told you my rig, it would be this, my dream rig makes supercomputers look weak and in serious need of upgrading

I know. The GTX 1080 costs $600-750 USD in America, yet here it's $950-1200 AUD. I'm saying don't expect US prices reflect to directly Australian prices.

TBH, I wouldn't be surprised if the Titan XP costs $2000.

Depends on his budget.

RX470 < RX480 <= GTX1060 < GTX1070 < GTX1080.

Sounds like he is probably in the RX470 range to me.
