Finding a suitable laptop

I have had a browse thought a couple of post already to see if any of them align with what I am looking for but nothing does so have had to make another post about this I'm afraid.

 

So me and my partner want to get a laptop that we can use for our college and uni work. I've taken control of this because I want to try and sneakily get a laptop that is capable of playing games as well. They don't need to run on a high spec but at least run. I have a gaming PC for my hardcore gaming. I'm aiming for around the £500 mark at the highest really.

 

I have had a look at a couple of options already which I've linked below but would like a second opinion and also like to know what you would suggest.

I have also have a brief look at the HP Pavillion and 250 series but never had a great experience with HP in the past.

Yeah I saw that one and really liked it however after going in their store today and speaking to a member of staff I don't plan on returning. 

 

I need to get it on finance as well and doubt currys will accept me from what he said. I'll try find it on another site

What you want is a 940MX minimum with good cooling. If cooling is not enough, it'll perform worse than intel HD.

If you are a person who is on the go, I'd suggest samsung notebook 9 15 inch or dell xps 13 (Note, if you are a business person AND you need web cam please do not go with xps 13, it has a very awkward camera placement!).

He wants gaming, those are
1 - too expensive
2 - incapable of gaming

Yeah too much I'm afraid and the gaming part of it doesn't need to be amazing. 

 

I'm mainly playing WoW at the moment but would like it to be handle a few other games as well

How about dell inspiron 5559 then? he could also save some bucks for a cool mouse then!

WoW is quite demanding. Nothing short of a 940MX will run it satisfactorily.

That site is useless - nothing good for you there

I don't actually know the model, but it seems to suit your needs. 940MX available with a good webcam, an i5 6200U or an i7 6500U.

Thanks for all the info guys. At this rate I'm either going to have to try and persuade the misses to let me spend more or just make a compromise on the gaming side of things.

Check the IdeaPad 700 as well - 950M so about 50% more power than a 940MX
