I think this is the right subforum to put it on? I've got $300 or so and I want to upgrade my processor and if possible buy a modular PSU.

My Specs:

i3-3220

GTX 960 (2gb model)

16gb generic DDR3

B-75M

Silverstone SG13WB-Q

Basically, I'd like to get a better processor, preferably one I can overclock (considering I just got my hands on a closed-loop watercooler), then a modular PSU if possible within my budget. Really when it comes to PSU shopping I have zero clue what I'm doing and what will make my PC catch fire...

you'll need to upgrade your motherboard if you wanna overclock as b75 chipsets don't support overclocking. i'd recommend you look for a used i7/xeon. which psu do you have?

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

Currently have a EVGA 550w Bronze certified PSU, I just have massive issues with cable management.
