You are better off returning it and getting a small USB adapter. They are about the same price and only take up one slot, no fancy workarounds needed.

i5 6600k and GTX 1070 but I play 1600-900. 1440p BABY!

Still, don't put too much faith in my buying decisions. xD

Well you answered your own question. You need a cheap extension cable like this onepcie_x1_slot_extender_by_paulrokicki-d5c
