General Opinions

So I'm getting a new rig in the near future. It will mainly be used for gaming at 1080p at 144hz as well as schoolwork. I've narrowed what I want down pretty closely, but I'm still interested in getting some opinions.

- What motherboard should I get? I'm currently looking at either a Gigabyte z170mx-gaming 5 or an MSI Z170m Mortar although it is by no means limited to these two. As long as it's a micro atx z170 and under $150, I'm just looking for something reliable, I don't particularly care about colors or anything like that.

- As for cpu/gpu, right now I'm planning on going with an i5 6600k and a 1070, but I wonder if I should go for a i7 6700k for $100 more and a $100 cheaper gpu - perhaps a 390x. Again, it will be used for gaming at 1080p, and I would much appreciate a rock solid 144hz at high settings (in games like overwatch, rocket league, etc) as well as "future proofness"

- My last question is about a headset. I plan on getting a hyperx cloud 2 as a headset but I could also go for separate headphones and mic - just wondering what people recommend.

Feel free to answer any combination of questions

In case you need this info, I plan on getting the aforementioned i5 6600k and motherboard, G skill ripjaw ddr4 3000 ram (2x8gb), samsung 850 evo 250 gb, 2 1tb hdds (wd blue and seagate barracuda) in raid 1, a gtx 1070 (probably an asus rog) and a 550 watt evga supernova psu. Oh, and a cryorig h7 as my radiator.
