I have a Samsung monitor (SyncMaster P2270) and when I attach it to my computer the computer doesn't recognise it. The monitor is being plugged in via DVI and the computer should be outputting the signal via HDMI. I am using a converter to achieve this. I know that the converter works because I switched my Xbox One's output to output to the monitor using the same cable and it worked flawlessly. I have updated both of my laptops graphics drivers to the latest versions (Intel HD Graphics and NVIDIA 840m) and have also installed the proper drivers from here: http://www.samsung.com/au/support/model/LS22CLUSFD/XY for the monitor. I have gone to 'Display Settings' on Windows 10 (Right click the wallpaper > Display settings and the monitor is not appearing. I have clicked 'detect' on this screen as well and it says "Didn't detect another display". I have also gone to Control Pannel > Appearance and Personalization > Display > Screen Resolution and have pressed the detect button (nothing happens) and when I clicked the Display dropdown there was only 1 available (the laptop screen). I have restarted my computer and monitor multiple times as well and that hasn't fixed it. I am running the latest version of Windows 10. What do I do to get the computer to detect the monitor?
