hi there,

i'm going to get right to the point here,

i'm going to buy a new graphics card ,the nvidia geforce gtx 1060 to be precice, and i was wondering for in the future (because i'm new to pc building i don't know this yet) if in let's say 7 years time i want to upgrade my graphics card, could i buy the "latest" in the series gtx graphics card and still use my gtx 1060 at the same time ,using sli or is that not possible? for instence could it work if i kept somethings in mind like the gddr type or whatever ,or would sli only work with 2 of the same graphics cards?

i hope that you understand my question and awnser it if possible ,sorry for the bad grammer ,english isn't my native language.

thank you in advance.

No, such things are not possible with SLI. For SLI to work, you'll need the two exact same graphics cards with the same amounts of VRAM. Keep in mind that the GTX 1060 doesn't even support SLI.

You might be able to use it as a PhysX card but they're ultimately useless for the most part.
