Headset Volume Control on PS3

Recently, I've been trying to use a headset on my PS3 for GTA Online.  The problem is that the voice audio seems to be set at a fixed volume.  Using the up and down buttons on two different USB headsets seems to do nothing.  The VXI headset that I use for voice recognition works completely fine on my PC, and I have absolutely no issues adjusting the speaker volume.  It does nothing though when connected to my PS3.  I can only adjust the mic volume through the Accessory Settings.  Any suggestions would be wonderful.
