Hey

At the moment I have a prebuilt Acer Predator G3620 I bought nearly 4 years ago, and I've been wanting to upgrade it for some time. It's mainly the GPU, GTX 660, that I felt has been the limiting factor for better performance in games. I think I'm going to buy the 1060 or 480 to replace it with, but I've also been wanting to built my own new computer to have it be more upgrade-friendly in the next couple of years, so I've been planning on reusing the old parts from my prebuilt, so I could save some money, but I'm not sure if thats the best idea so I would love to get some input.

Im guessing I would have to buy a new motherboard, since I'm pretty sure the current one is a custom one that doesn't fit in a new case.

My current CPU is the i7-3770, which I would assume would be fine to pair with the 1060 or 480 for 1080p60fps for the next couple of years?

My current RAM consist of 4 x 4GB 1333MHz which I would guess also would be fine for a new build?

The power supply is a 500W, ( FSP500-70EP), which again I'm assuming would be fine and fit in the the new build?

And I'm also guessing i can reuse the 2 TB HDD + the SSD i recently installed?

Now, if I was to get a new motherboard and case, does anyone have some advise on which to get, since it's a bit confusing and overwhelming for me to figure out at the moment with all the motherboard sizes and socket types.  Thanks for any help or input :)

you can buy the case first and see if the mobo fits, although i think the mobo is a standard matx mobo. the i7 is still very good for gaming, shouldn't bottleneck the rx 480/gtx 1060/r9 390. the psu should be enough for the new gpu, FSP's usually a pretty decent OEM. if i were you i'd just upgrade the gpu, the rest of the parts doesn't look that bad.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W
