Hi everyone,

Thanks to anyone who can lend a hand!

So here's my project. Im trying to modify the firmware on three Bitcoin mining computers (Antminer S1's) so that i can use them as external graphics processors. They have their own firmware and when i used them I controlled them remotely though my wifi and their IP. Id suggest a quick look at the picture because describing this things is going to be hard. It has three boards, two are processing boards and one very small control board. Both side boards are identical.

Both Side Boards: 8pin male jumper, a 4pin male jumper, 4pin male (power to fan), 2 x PCI-express power F.

Controls Board: Ethernet port, wifi antenna, 2X 8pin male jumper, 4pin male jumper.

So the side boards connect to the control board with the 8pin jumpers.

I need to figure out a way to change the firmware on the control board to work with my computer, or if theres an easier way than that.

I don’t mine bitcoin anymore, but I still play fallout. So id like to harness the power of these things. The goal is not to get the best graphics set up, it simply to use these computers, because I think it would be cool.

Again, thanks to anyone who can lend a hand. Hopefully this is more interesting than stupid in your eyes too.

Best regards,

Yeah, but cant I modify them is some way?

Not really, those chips are not designed to accept any other instructions than those for bitcoin mining. That's what makes them so powerful for bitcoin mining. It's like having a procssor that can only put things into RAM, nothing else.
