SO.

I'm getting an upgrade in the GPU department (And PSU but that's a different topic)

I've got a few options, and I'm honestly not sure what to go with.

On one hand, I can get...

EVGA GTX 970 SC...

It's in almost new condition, but I'm buying it from a friend.
Price: $200 USD

On the other hand I've got.

XFX AMD R9 390

It's also pre-owned, from the same friend, and it's the same price.

Price: $200 USD

Or I can get a 8gb Rx 480...

Like I said I'm stumped, don't know what to get, and I just need an outside opinion.

Thoughts?

NOTE: Neither of the card's have ever been overclocked, or messed with in any sort of way. Just used in a light gaming/schooling computer for a year.

I'd say it's between the R9 390 and GTX 970. While I'd say get the R9 390 (because of the VRAM and my personal belief that AMD cards age better), I would not dare putting it with a EVGA 400W White.

Get a PSU upgrade first. Any $50 Seasonic or XFX unit (with the exception of the XT series) would be a solid choice. Or perhaps even one of Corsair's grey CX PSUs.

@HKZeroFive  I'm puttin in a 650w PSU.

Then I'd say get the R9 390. Although the GTX 970 and R9 390 trade blows at 1080p, you'd might as well have the card with more VRAM and better DX12 capabilities (although the adoption rate is slow) since both are priced the same.

Also, My budget goes up to $300-350 for a PSU and GPU right now. Might be able to get it up to $400 if i really wanted to.

wait for aftermarket 480 or try squeezing 980/980ti into the budget. Almost all stores are trying to sell off all theire 980ti/980/970 so you should be getting them alot cheaper than they were before or you can try your luck with second hand cards
