A few days back, my computer happened to bluescreen a few short hours after I tried to plug my Android phone into one of my USB 3.0 ports (I know, just hear me out) I'd used it with one of my USB 2.0 hubs already, many times before, but the system searched for new drivers anyway (which it does whenever I plug any recognized device into a new port.) however it couldn't even recognize the device, let alone find any new drivers for it. I thought it was a blip.

But then it happened again. "DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE" a few days after
I went through my devices and device manager, located the inoperative driver and uninstalled/deleted it. Of course, this was before I realized that DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE probably had as much to do with me constantly putting my computer to sleep, although it was suspect that this error occurred twice in one week.

Then other weird things started to happen - a solid 15% of my CPU allocated to the service 'wuauserv' through svchost.exe. I did some research, but I went on with the simpler solution of stopping wuauserv altogether as opposed to doing an elaborate virus/trojan check. This was only a temporary solution to my problem, as with every reboot the service continues to use my resources. Seeing as wuauserv is somehow associated with Windows Update, I wonder if there is some sort of correlation between this and my recent USB driver issues.

I ran Microsoft's own WindowsUpdateDiagnostic tool, which found the following problems:
"Problems installing recent updates (Not fixed)
Service registration is missing or corrupt (Fixed)"

So what the heck is going on? Am I an idiot? Are these issues correlated at all?
Sorry for being a total newbie.

UPDATE: Troubleshooting revealed "Problem with PnP devices" - this would explain my encounter with many USB driver errors, and how devices are not recognized between USB ports.

Backup all data. Re-install windows because windows probably screwed itself up. After that if the problem still consists RMA the mobo.
