CSGO High ping on lan?

My brother is new to csgo and im trying to teach him how to play, but when he joined my lan game, hes randomly spiking to 800+ ping when he moves, hes at 40 ping when idle, but when moving it skyrockets. At first, we thought it was a wireless adapter issue, so we went out and bought a new one, but that didnt fix anything. Anyone know why this is happening?

it could be that the ISP you have is really shit. or interference with household appliances like the microwave

I have TWC's 50mbps internet, and I never have ping issues, its just him.

I'm no expert but has he had any problems before with WiFi functionality? If so, it might be his Wireless adapter. It could be the connection, have you tried using Ethernet cables?

We dont have a cable long enough to reach his computer. Even if we did, that would be really inconvenient.
