(Bullet list for essentials)

So I am wanting to build a NAS that I can access anywhere I am as long as I have internet connection and I am also planning on setting it up as a personal proxy server as well.

I have no idea if I should get special parts and PSU's for a system that is going to be on for most of it's life so that's kinda why I'm here :)

So what should I be getting for parts to make this happen? I don't need a whole lot of drive space but I do plan on putting the drives in raid 1 but I don't think I will need much more than just 1TB and my budget is $500 or less.

  • NAS that can be accessed anywhere as long as I have an internet connection.
  • Used for backups of essential files and pictures.
  • Powered 24/7
  • Two 1TB HDD's in Raid 1 will be used
  • Budget of $500 or less
  • Need part list

As always, thanks for the help :D
