Laptop Broken Backlight

Go to solution Solved by Naeaes,

See that copper -colored flat connector? https://youtu.be/i3KcW_9txtU?t=3m20s It's probably loose. Either at this end or on the motherboard. Worst-case scenario would be that it's not. :/ Then it could be a bad solder just about anywhere. I wouldn't go buying spare parts for an old cheap-o laptop like this. Save your money for a new laptop. You can always make a dedicated HTPC out of this one.

I seem to be having a problem with my laptop... I have to bend the main part of the laptop (as opposed to the display) to be able to see anything. The backlight won't come on with out pressure to the middle. I believe this is a loose connection, for which I would need to open up the system. I want to check first with anyone else before I start shifting and breaking stuff. This started happening about 20 minutes prior to me posting this. The system is a Lenovo G505. I've only opened up the system for dusting and installing another stick of RAM, which I haven't done either of in quite a while. I got the system about in 2013 and it is no longer under warranty. I'm more or less looking for an exact part for either replacement or repair. Any ideas on what it may be and or/how to fix it?
