How to reduce fan speed in the Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2

Nilmar0707

Hi, i'm new here and i'm having a hard time listening to the "Cooler Master Xtraflo 120mm" spinning at 1800RPM.

It is a 4-pin fan but the SYS_FAN of my motherboard "Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2", is 3-pin only. I did some research and found something about reducing the voltage, but i don't know how to do that.

On the BIOS there is only options to change the CPU_FAN speed.

Can someone give me tips to reduce the RPM?

Thank you.

3 Pin Headers will only let you reduce the fan speed to 50% via voltage control.

I had a similar problem myself and ended up buying the Phobya 8x4-Pin PWM Splitter and I plugged all my PWM fans into that and then plug that into the CPU_FAN header so I could get a lower speed

If I have solved your issue, please mark the thread as solved! Thanks!

According to your motherboard manual, you can't from the BIOS however, you may be able to use an application called SpeedFan. It works for some motherboards.
