First thing:

This PC system was build over a year ago, it's had recent upgrades, the latest being a corsair H100 which I bought for just £44.99 on Overclockers UK. This build was important for me, it was my first personal Intel build. I've built loads of PC's over the years as I'm an engineer but this is my 3rd personal build.

I got hold of the prodigy as I wanted something different, something unique, something beautiful while maintaining the ability of taking extreme hardware. I researched what ITX boards I could get and found that Asus was my ideal choice. I chose the Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe since I would of been silly to choose anything else. I had a massive Coolermaster 612S cooler and all the other boards had CPU sockets too close to the GPU socket meaning useless unless your using stock or watercooling.

I then found a cheap enough and reasonable set of 2X4GB 1333 RAM which I now regret getting as there was 1600MHz RAM for about £8 - £10 more, I was silly!!

The full specifications are below, I've changed the case about 3 times to and fro a Coolermaster Elite 120 since I was moving home ect and needed something a little smaller, but this was only temporary thing.

Specifications:

Intel Core I5 3570K

AMD Radeon HD6950 (was a HD6850)

8GB DDR3 1333MHz

60GB OCZ Agility3 boot drive

1TB WD Blue drive

Hyper 580 Mk II PSU

Corsair H100

I love this system apart from one thing I cant be asked to change.... you can probably guess it... Windows 8! I bought the £25.00 offer and I still think it was a waste of money! I've had to hack a proper start menu into it so it works properly.

Feel free to suggest any updates / upgrades (NOT HASWELL, It's a waste of money in my opinion.) I've also lost the front bay cover so might try and buy a new coloured panel, maybe a black one or something.

Cheers for the views, hope you enjoy!

Interesting parts choice... I would have gone with a newer card and an FX8350. Also I would have gotten a 120mm cooler like the H60, instead of the H100.

I would of went for an AMD processor, but I had AMD before and wasn't too impressed with performance and AMD aren't as good as Intel right now. As for the GPU, I was looking for an AMD Radeon 7850 but then this came up and I grabbed it as it was cheap and it does what I need :) I will go for an AMD 7XXX card soon, not sure what one yet though. The reason i got the H100 was it was dirt cheap and I like to overclock a bit, I've used a H60 in a customer build on an I7 3770K and it was ok, not as good is this. I got to 4.8GHz yesterday with this. It's basically been built upon bargains that i've come across over the last 12 months. The bargain build lol

Come to think of it, the SSD, Processor and PSU where not paid for by me lol, my fiancée got the processor last year for £170, she also went halfs with my mum on the SSD and the motherboard was half and half with my boss for building his website, I also got the PSU for free of my dad since he thought it was faulty and buckling on an AMD Athlon II build LOL!
