So i want to replace my old Logitech Z5300 surround PC speakers with a nice set of bookshelf speakers (~£250 or so, currently looking at the Audioengine A5+). The logitechs are nice when playing games but when watching footall (erm soccer) or Netflix they sound too bassy and muddy. Also the positioning of the 4 surround speakers doesn't help as they are on the floor so i get the brunt of the centre and base in my head.

The issue is the space i have available for my setup (see pics). Anyone got any clever ideas on where/how i can place speakers? I can't really move my PC to a different wall so this is kind of what i'm stuck with.

I could replace the desk with a slightly wider one that fits over my heater but i like the shelving on my current one.
