Overclocking AMD FX-8350

Hello!

 

I just got a CM Hyper 212 Evo. I want wanting to overclock my AMD FX-8350 (to a stable overclock). I am new to overclocking so I don't know too much about overclocking. Any and all help is welcome. Also, should I use a software to overclock my cpu or should I do it on the motherboard?

Try a 4.5Ghz overclock at 1.33 volts, if that doesn't work then try 1.36. But you can always go lower if your chip has better efficiency . some people run at 4.7Ghz on a 4690k at 1.4 volts when i run at 1.25 volts, it's just luck xD.

Max volts for the 8350 is 1.5v so just keep that in mind and disable CPU Spread spectrum and PCIe spread spectrum ( and EPU power saving mode ) if your MOBO has it.

 

Oh and turn off the "turbo" mode

always OC in BIOS.

 

start at 4.5 @ 1.4v and go from there testing stability through something that puts 100% load on all cores. Temperatures will be a limiting factor.

 

motherboard quality also has a lot to do with how far you can go with these CPU's.
