i just got a new PSU for my computer to hopefully power my new graphics card. so i took out my old one, and put in my new power supply, and i found out that my system refused outright to turn on. when that happened, i took it out and put my old PSU, and it worked, so that told me 2 things, that I was plugging in all of the correct cables, and none of my hardware was dead. so all that happens when i turn on my power supply is that it gives off a short burst of power, and turns off. is the PSU  defective, or is there another thing that I am missing?

Maybe it's a bad batch? did you plug everything in properly? did you flick the power switch on?

Hope this helps :P
