So, title says it all, my G500 disconnects, and then quickly connects back again. I already replaced the chord. I can do soldering and stuff no problem, bad capacitors or something?

bad connection from the cord to the mouse itself or in the usb connector? my friend got two broken ones and it's the cord being loose or simular

I just replaced the chord with a new one and it should be connected correctly, there is a slight design flaw with the cable connector inside the mouse. A screw post is right in front of the connector, and that causes the wires to do a very sharp turn right in front of the connector, my suspicion is that the ground cable (which is in the far left in the connector, might lose proper connection and cut for a fraction of a second, and therefore cause the mouse to disconnect. But it is weird that the mouse worked just fine for years. This is actually my second G500, the first one had the same problem, but I get a new one from warranty.

The cable is "locked" to the connector with a little locking mechanism. You can't close it if the cable is not all the way in. So yes, should be, except if the connector is broken.

i have no idea why it sholdn't be working but it really sounds like a broken connector/cord, must be horrible playing with it

I have been thinking to get the Corsair Sabre.

seems good enough altough it's more of a personal opinion when it gets to mice and keyboards
