What resolution are you playing on? What are the rest of your computer specs ? Which games exactly and at what settings? Are you using the latest drivers, and what other software is running in the background?

There are many factors that could be causing this my friend, you need to be more descriptive...

7800x3d - RTX 4090 FE - 64GB-6000C30 - 2x2TB 990 Pro - 4K 144HZ

kind of an idiot question, you sure you got the right drivers? if you do try reinstalling anyways, also it might be wierd if you're playing in window mode if you do

I play in 1920x1080 and i have a 5820k processor 16GB ram and a 1000 watt power supply I'm new to gaming pcs I got tired of consoles so decided to build my own pc and tried to go all out on it as much as I could

Then you should know a 1000Watt psu is useless for your configuration next time.

Running a intel core I5 oc 4,5Ghz , 16Gb , GTX980Ti oc 1450/1900 on a... 550Watt psu and i still have like 100+ Watt safe margin.

As a 980Ti owner like you , you should know a 980Ti won't protect you for usage like supersampling.

If you are running games in 1080P but with DSR or SSAA X4 , it's the equivalent of playing at 4K and a 980Ti won't like it at all.

I wish i could oc my body, during winter overheating would be great.

There is still no use for a 1K W for 2 cards and SLI brings more stutter issue than anything else.

By the time you want to add another 980Ti you will have more efficient card on the market.

For exemple i was playng the last tomb raider in 2560*1080 ( 21:9 Aspect Ration)

With FXAA game run at like 80-90+ fps , once you start using SSAA , X2 drop it a 40+ fps , X4 drop at 25-30 fps.

Just stay away from supersampling and you will be fine with your 980Ti it's already otherkill for Full HD résolution.

I wish i could oc my body, during winter overheating would be great.

the 1000w psu is probobly becuase reasons. i use an rm1000 for a 5820k and a 970 and i'm not regretting my purchase, altough i got it for half the price and it had only been tested and then put back into a box

Check first your temperature and your settings.

Good thing to know for exemple if if your card reachs too high temps it will reduce frequency (so performance) by itself to reduce temperature.

If you got it for half price sure but in the other case it's just money waste.

because you can spend your money on another aspect of your PC such as more efficient cooling or bigger SSD/

he has a 980ti and an x99 so i don't think the "spend your money on another aspect of your pc" argument works here c: it's about as good as he gets without spending way to much money

You can have a x99 and still improve your pc performance with :

better cooling ( more efficient / silent)

better or bigger SSD,

Better case ,

better cooler,

better monitor.

This is all about optimisation , spend 1$ here is one dollar not spend there.

My gpu sits around 40 to 50 degrees c

Then check your game setting something must be wrong in those.

And note if you are using Vsync with a 60Hz monitor , you won't get more than 60 fps for exemple.

if he's using vsync it's wierd that the gpu is at 98% load since it "throttles" the gpu so it gets exactly that fps (this is why there's a small dip to 58-59 since it has to lower the usage and the game may need more in that exact moment)

And this is why the goal is to try things one by one since the user is new to pc gaming, Vsync was just a note since it's comon mistake from a ton of people to ask why they have only 60 fps when wome people claim having 100+.

Ya I made sure vsync is off and I mainly use the GeForce experience optimal game settings

You should do the settings by yourself , GFE can be tricky and wrong about games settings.

Best option is a t least to try manual setting by yourself and to check what your performance are step by step and when it starts to get bad.

When you're at the high end, SLI makes sense. I would argue that in some ways the 980TI should be the only card someone should be using in SLI currently. While it's true some games have stutter issues with SLI, most don't. With all that said, more than 1 980TI isn't really needed for 1080p. OP should be looking at 1440p.

Can you run a benchmark? Try running 3DMark's Firestrike and let us know what you score (post the link).
