Just found my old Flip Video from circa 2006 that I have tons of old homemade videos from when I was a kid on. I thought it would be fun to add some cool edits onto some old videos, but want to make the footage look a little better. The videos were originally recorded in 480p and I was wondering if there was a program I could use to upscale the videos to 720p by running lots of anti aliasing or something similar.

Anybody heard of anything that would do the trick?

Sony Vegas?

I could do it for you.

I can do it myself, thanks for offering though. So Handbrake has a AA option?

Fuck, I guess it can't natively upscale, at least with DVD files.

It's fine, any ideas for other programs? Don't really want to spend hundreds on Sony Vegas lol.

Do you currently use a video editor of any sorts? I believe even Windows Movie Maker would work.

I have Windows Movie Maker, and FCPX Trial on another Mac, didn't think they had AA though, so changing the res to 720p wouldn't really do much...I can check FCPX though.

Even if it had AA, compressed video doesn't scale well with anti aliasing.

I was thinking I could export it as 720p and then add some intense AA (16x) to make it look like true 720p. The bitrate is 4785kbps so it is very high quality 480p.
