Hello!

I've been trying to get a personal cloud installed on my website and plugged in a external HDD. Then to make it automount when it boots I added this line to /etc/fstab:

/dev/sdb1 / ntfs defaults 0 1

Then I unplugged the drive to test some stuff on it, when I tried to reboot my RPi it got into Emergency Mode (without any errors). When I plugged the drive back in it worked fine. However I don't want the drive plugged in 24/7, how do I fix this?

*Edit: I am running Raspbian.

That's weird. what happens if you unplug the drive while the PI is running? And what happens if you remove that line for the automount?

I have removed the line and the harddrive while the RPi was turned on. I tried rebooting but it goes in the Emergency Mode again. I have plugged the drive back in, rebooted and now it works again.
