Fallout 4 Fresh Install

I want to do a Fresh Install of Fallout 4 because the game keeps crashing at the point of going to that mansion doing the Brotherhood Of Steel Story. So i was wondering since I have a lot mods installed would the save get corrupted if I install every new except the mods? Sorry if this was unclear i cant explain it well. Thanks In Advance

It might be crashing because you have lots of mods installed...

Try disabling all the mods and see if the save file runs. If disabling all of your mods via NMM takes too long, disable all the ESPs and test that instead.

yes the save will most likey currupt, it happend wtih my skyrim my last save was from a modded game 200 some mods then i wiped my pc and rip my save it wouldnt start up

I meant, disable all the ESPs to see if the save game even loads. So it does load. That means when you do a fresh install of FO4, your save file will still load. You've done stuff like coc out of there right?

Sorry but i dont really mess with the commands because i never really needed to I guess until now. So what does coc do exactly?

Coc means 'center on cell'. Basically, it's a command to teleport somewhere. So maybe try:

coc SanctuaryExt02  (teleport to Sanctuary Hills)

 

You can also try teleporting to Elder Maxxson:

player.moveto 1cc18

If it works, you can try fast traveling back to outside of the Fort.

Still Crashes and all esps are disabled

Then you're crashing whenever you leave The Fort it seems. It's not just going to right outside the Fort that's causing problems. I'm not sure what's causing it, and there's no GECK, and no real bug fix patch.

 

You can try teleporting Maxxson to you with "prid 1cc18" and then "moveto player" and try to turn in the quest that way. Or, you can finish the quest with "setstage 537ff 110", "setstage 537ff 255". The problem might not even be related to the quest though. Reinstalling FO4 completely might fix the issue but it's also a longshot. Maybe a mod made using TESSnip is causing the issue. Usually it's the mods with ESPs and scripts that can screw up the game.

 

And of course not to insult your intelligence, but just to make sure, try some earlier saves. Maybe you can finish the quest with commands and never have to go inside the fort in the first place. (Although, if your save files are that broken, you might want to get a new save sooner or later anyways.)

 

In rare instances, not having the latest patch, or even verifying game files will fix game glitches.

Oh yeah... one more thing. I'm not going to make much of a promise at all, but if you send me the save file and I'm able to run it, that hints that the problem is not just solely the save file. Or maybe I can screw around with stuff and maybe find a fix. But again, no promises that I can find a fix.

I loaded your save file. Everything seems to work OK. I turned in your quest and put you at Sanctuary Hills. My guess is that if you reinstall everything Fallout 4 related, make sure all the settings are reverted to vanilla, it will fix it.

Thank me once you verify that the save file works. Does it work? Even if it doesn't, me being able to run the save points at the fact that the save file is salvageable. And that means the problem isn't really the save file.

42 mods is not a lot. Well, "42 mods" is kind of a vague term. Is that... 42 esps? Or just 42 different downloads from the Nexus? What if I took many of the texture mods and merged them into one?
