If it boots straight to your OS then you messed up the boot order in the bios. Just access the boot menu and select your pendrive or disc drive. The tool can create a full installation disc, and I know this because I have done it multiple times and used it for system repairs. It can install the system from scratch. Maybe you're using the wrong tool.

If that doesn't work there's not much you can do about it other than buying a new drive and using it for backup. Alternatively you can buy a usb enclosure and try to browse to your important data from your laptop, then upload it to a cloud storage service like google drive, more than one if you need more than 15gb.

From what I deciphered from your original post, you have a working laptop correct? You can download Windows 10 straight from Microsoft's site and burn it to either a CD or USB. Boot to it and install. Windows 10 will automatically activate on your desktop since it's based on your hardware, so no worries there. However, your data will be lost. It seems Win10 somehow got corrupted; a fresh install looks like your only option. But I don't claim to be an expert, I just know sometimes it's easier to start from scratch unless you have super important data.

Worse comes to worse, take it to a buddy's house or repair shop and have them hook it up as a secondary and drag and drop your files from the drive. Good luck!

I don't see a way to recover your data then. If you won't go to a shop, don't have friends to assist, and don't have any other PC to stick that drive in, I'd say your options are extremely limited. I got nothing else man, sorry. Hopefully someone more experienced than myself will come along to this thread.
