a monitor cant reach 120 hz through a VGA. A VGA max refresh rate is 60hz

From L to R.  HDMI then VGA then DVI.  Get a video card and monitor setup that supports DVI.  One of the newer standards is displayport shown here. -->That one is good for over 60 hz also.

As someone that does play CSGO, be it at a lowly nova 3 rank right now. IT does help, yes. But you don't NEED it.

Well, strictly speaking that's not true, as there have been plenty of 75Hz/85Hz VGA monitors back in the day, but yes it's very unlikely any modern 120Hz monitors would take 120Hz input over VGA.

your laptop should have a hdmi output so try that, it will be a lot better than the vga

yeah i will probably use that but then the monitor has to have to have 2 hdmi connections since im using my ps3 as well

yeah I guess so but if its that a big of a problem you can just manually switch the hdmi cables.
