Single stick vs mixed

RAM stick 1: (single)

Kingston 2GB DDR2-800 PC2-6400

RAM stick 2:

Kingston 1GB DDR2-667 PC2-5300

I have tested both running together, yes it works. I was wondering if what setup would offer me better performance?

Well, if the board and memory supports and runs in dual channel, then 2 1GB sticks will technically perform better. The difference isn't noticeable for general use, though.

i think you need them at the same speed even tho their/they're (fix my english pls) from different brand. but some say it still work but at the lowest speed, in this case its the 5300 speed..

Anyways, even if it gets broken, they'll still reuse the working parts
