Need Help With RAM Compatibility

MDPS

So I am doing a SUPER budget build and am currently working on getting RAM (I want to have at least 4GB in one or two sticks). The CPU will be an Intel Xeon E5345 and I'm worried there might be some compatibility issues I am unaware of. Basically, is there any specific type of RAM I need to get or are consumer grade DIMM sticks OK? Also, are there any bounds I need to be aware of (can't be more than xGB amount, can't be faster than xxxx mhz, etc.)?

Thanks in advance!

P.S. I still don't have a motherboard picked out, but I plan on getting one with at least two RAM slots and only a single socket for the Xeon. Any recommendations on that too to fit with my tight budget (around $20-30 to spend on mobo)? I don't mind buying used or on Ebay.
