a r9 390 would be a better graphics card.

Or just get a i5 6600k and a 980ti

You don't need that good of a CPU compared to the GPU, change the GPU to a R9 390 btw. Go for a 250gb SSD rather than a 128gb

Hi all,

So as the title suggests, this is my first ever build and really want it to go well. I'm open to any and all input.

Thanks :)

If you are not going to be doing cpu intensive tasks like video editing, you can get an i5 and a 980ti.

So I should've added this in my first post, I should clarify that this is both for video-editing and gaming purposes which is why I went for the i7 rather than i5.

Alright wait a sec

so is the r9 390 generally thought to be better vs the 970? Sorry I haven't really done much research on the 390

Yep. But if you need shadowplay then go for a 970, lets just say the AMD version of shadowplay is pretty bad

Alright, thanks :)

Are you going to overclock as the cpu is overclockable?

It was a thought I considered down the road, which is why I went for the 6700k. I'm assuming a different cooler and possibly additional fans would be something to consider as well?

The CPU cooler is a really good one, just get fans for all the fan slots
