Hello everyone,

I recently bought a Gigabyte GTX 960 Windforce OC you can view it here : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125771

But to get straight to the point, I really would like to overclock this card but I don't know what settings to put everything at in MSI Afterburner. Would really appreciate if someone could put what they use or something like that!

Thanks in advance!

Well I have the EVGA 960 SSC which has a limited power target compared to other 960s like this one I believe. I've gotten up to +90 MHz on the core, that plus the boost gets me to about 1532 MHz, a total waste of time however in anything performance wise (~2%+). Core and memory overclocks together though, I've only gotten +35 MHz core and +500 MHz memory (1478 MHz core, 2000 MHz, 8 GHz effective) ~11%+ performance gains. Voltage, I never trouble voltage but when I did, I didn't see any change in stability going higher in clocks. Just doing the memory alone yields ~8%+. I haven't tested the limits of the memory clocks however, while its the obvious place to pay attention to, I'm not quite fond of overclocking memory

System: Intel Core i3 3240 @ 3.4GHz, EVGA GTX 960 SSC 2GB ACX 2.0, 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 Kingston HyperX RAM, ASRock B75M-DGS R2.0 Motherboard, Corsair CX430 W Power Supply

  • Power limit max
  • Start increasing core clock by 10-15mhz
  • Each time you increase clock do a quick run of gpu stress test like firestrike or unigine heaven
  • When you find a clock that crashes reduce it by 10-15mhz again
  • Stress test for 30 mins at least.
  • Test with games as well

  • Memory, same power limit max
  • Increase by 50-100mhz this time
  • Again, quick run of unigine to see if its stable
  • When it starts to be unstable reduce by your last stable clock
  • Stress test for 30 mins at least. and use games

You can increase voltage to be stable at higher core or memory clock. for instance your stable with +70 core, but not with +80, increasing voltage could make you stable at that.. but looking at the post above it didnt help him. nor did it help with my 970 as voltage was locked @1.25v
