So, with 1-2 years past on the eventful shockingly amazing hype release of the 2 Logitech contenders, I've been saving my bottom dollars for a replacement of my current Redragon Origin. Whilst a great mouse i need the DPI and the Profiles. Redragon's software only allows for 1 profile without switching (unless you pick the mouse up and press a hard to press button) i've found for some games that i need lower DPI with a certain pointer setting, and then other games i need higher DPI with a different setting. i think it's high DPI with low pointer settings and low DPI with high pointer settings.

The only way i think iu can do this is with better software, which Redragon doesn't have. So i've looked into over 100 mice. And i've been strangling my wallet for the cash to finally obtain them. With new mice coming out in the recent months, such as the Roccat Nyth and the Corsair Scimitar, i've been waiting to see how they perform. but seeing as Linus and Tek aren't reviewing them yet, and i'm getting sick of my current mouse's obsolete software,

I want a mouse that can track properly, and feel decently comfortable. i have 8 inch hands here from palm ring to tip of middle finger. i use a hybrid palm and fingertip grip. a relaxed posture, one that requires my movement to not be swiftly swiping the mouse around my desk in 5 foot intervals.

I have 60 bucks, and i can wait for a sale if need be. the 502 has come down to 60 on Amazon a few times now but not as i finally get the money for it.

So my question is, is the G600 a good mouse? i heard there's tracking issues.

Logitech is a company which make great gaming mice. Better than the specialist gaming companies in the same price range (LOOKING AT YOU RAZER AND MAD CRAPZ). I've had the G502, G602 and they were all immaculately balanced and well designed ergonomically wise. Where did you hear there was tracking issues? This mouse is years old and Logitech will have definitely sorted out these 'issues' by now.

I don't care what anyone says, Logitech does some of the most solid, well-rounded gaming peripherals I've ever seen. Their software is excellent, as is their customer support. I've never been worried about my G502 bricking or breaking, and I've put it through hell. Works great.

actually they did, but old models, as far as i can understand, still circulate without being picked up on, and i'm a fearful buying. im very careful. i've been lucky with products i've bought so far, but that luck can run out. the issue, as i heard it, is with the older version of the mouse where if you store the profiles iin the on board memory the cursor will jump and jitter when shifting DPI between the different lefels of up and down. this was fixed in a newer version of the mouse through software, and older versions were incompatible with this update.

I understand your concerns. My advice would be to buy new from Amazon and return it if you're unhappy within a year. Win win.

my only concern with the neew lineup is that my big hand is scrunched. i'm already getting cramps and having issues with my grip stopping me short when clamping on the mouse in a tense situation. they are narrow.

i might have to, but we shall see. still, my hand is huge, my thumb might be a problem with the buttons. you think an alt key width thumb will be accurate with the side buttons?

I have a G600 and a G502 and like them both. The G502 is my default mouse, mainly as I have an average hand and it's good for everything (best mouse I've ever used). It might fit you better as the thumb buttons are larger and easy to differentiate.

I like the G600 a lot too just I found it a bit large but I'm not sure the side buttons would be easy for you to locate. The Corsair Scimitar is getting great reviews and it's adjustable but I'm not sure about availability and it's looking kind of pricey.

my large hands would fit the 600 shape better, but the buttons are harder to press evenly then? i understand the 502 has less buttons, meaning they can be a bit larger. the Scimitar is getting great reviews, however this is an early run for it, and who knows if the sensor is as good as, say, the 502's? the G600 im only considering because it's wider, has more buttons, and is cheaper. though im a bit worried about a laser sensor, i jsut need an upgrade. seeing as i'm playing skyrim and going to be playing more MMO's in the future, i need the buttons.

It's not that the G600's buttons are harder to press, they react well, I was just thinking if your thumb is that large it might be harder to feel which key you were on. Could just be a matter of practice to get used to them. A few stores around here have gaming mice unboxed for demos, maybe you could call around and ask.

My G502 definately beats the G600 for accuracy but compared to other laser mice I've used the G600 is a far better laser and the buttons are damn handy to have.

again, im only looking for an upgrade, getting "the best mouse on the market" isn't very practical, though the 502 seems to be doing just that. until the new stuff finally hits a peak and we get to the cream of the crop, i'm saving the big money if i need to. i might still get the 502 for accuracy sensor reasons, but until the nyth and scimitar go under logans or linus' gaze and they get reviewed, it would rather same the money as best i can.

with that said, as long as the 600 is a great sensor, with great feel size and buttons, for 40 bucks i can handle it until i grab the 502. besides, there's more than just a mouse im looking for. i need a good headset or pair of headphones, as well as a mech keyboard. which i set my eyes on Gamdias hermes. (walmart has a "kworld" gamdias, which is the same thing, for 100 bucks, same price as the G710, without the problems)

regardless, this is about the mouse. as llong as my large hand fits well, the sensor is a very good sensor, and it's reccomended by those who've used it, or are still using it, i'll grab it. and i thank you, and everyone here, for their help.
